Stockbridge Market is the place to head for a spot of Sunday shopping
The Stockbridge Market has over 18 months of trading under its belt now and continues to attract hoards of Sunday shoppers. With a pool of over 100 traders there really is something for everyone.
It’s become part of our weekly Sunday ritual to have a mosey on down to Stockbridge and pick up a few foody items, or have lunch from one of the excellent ‘street food’ stalls there.
On our last visit, we managed to stock up on food for Sunday lunch, and a few supplies for the rest of the week. Expert advice is on hand from the meat and fish suppliers and there’s plenty of vegetarian choices as well. The vegetable selection is excellent (some complete with soil, they’re so fresh).
A market wouldn’t be complete without a baked good or two, so thankfully there are always a few stalls selling inviting pastries, stunning cupcakes, artisan shortbread and chocolate from the excellent Chocolate Tree
A handful of gift stalls compliment the food-based ones, enabling you to buy a present or two as well.
Shoppers can sit and relax, taking in a coffee (from the funky Steampunk VW camper van) and a snack while listening to the variety of buskers who sometimes frequent the market.
This popular Sunday market is an interesting and social alternative to a supermarket visit and a great place to fill up your cupboards for the coming week.
