NEWS – The Wee Boulangerie opens in Clerk Street, Edinburgh

The Wee Boulangerie now open in Clerk Street

We think that you can never have too many bakeries in the place that you live and another one has popped up in the city’s southside.

Not only does the name make us smile, but walking into the shop with the aroma of freshly baked goods can only make a day more enjoyable.

Katia Lebart, shop owner and master baker was trained in her native country of France at the famous school Institut National de la Boulangerie Pâtisserie.

Baking all the goods herself on the premises every morning, Katia and her Wee Boulangerie is bound to prove popular with the locals.

A wide range of rustic breads, batons, rolls and croissants take pride and place on the shelves, with a range of both sweet and savoury treats on the counter top.

Slices of pizza can be heated up before taking away and hot drinks are also available.

We couldn’t see past the brioche buns today, or the macarons. In the coming weeks, Katia will extend her range of goods on sale to include classic lemon tarts and a range of cakes.

Service is friendly and the staff knowledgeable about the goods sold.

After trying out some of the products today, it’s safe to say we’ll be back for a wee something from the Wee Boulangerie on a regular basis.
